Dental Splints &Teeth Grinding
Teeth grinding or scientifically known as Bruxism often happens at night while the individual is asleep. This action is quite damaging to the teeth and their supporting structures including the muscles and ligaments of the jaw. Temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD) often is created or exacerbated with bruxism.
As dentists we see people with TMD on a regular basis and one of our treatment modalities is to prevent the damaging effects of bruxism or teeth grinding with a protective and at times corrective device called occlusal splint or just simply “Splint”.
If you know or suspect that you could be a bruxer then call us at Bundall Dental And Implant to discuss the issue as we have a wealth of knowledge and experience in dealing with this condition.
