When we deal with a larger area of missing teeth (2 or more), we naturally need more implants to go in the place of each missing tooth. However, in certain cases where there are 3 or more teeth missing, we can place lesser number of implants in the jaw than missing teeth but then attach same number of crowns as the number of missing teeth on those implants.

For example, in an area where there are 3 teeth missing, we can place 2 implants and put 3 joined crowns on those 2 implants to mimic 3 teeth.

Similarly, we can place a number of implants (minimum of 4) in a full dental arch which is missing all its teeth and attach a full arch bridge to replace all the teeth in the arch. This concept has given rise to terms such as “all-on-4” or “all-on-4 and more.”

So, in summary if we can place a sufficient number of implants (sub-structure) to achieve a physical and structural stability then we can load those with a greater number of supra-structures, in other words teeth.

You can rely on us at Bundall Dental And Implants for any of your dental implant needs.
